CANCELLATION POLICY
Fatai Kayak Adventures understands that travel plans vary due to illness, accident and people simply changing their minds. In turn, we ask our clients to understand that we may have turned away a number of keen people for those reserved places. We may also have committed expenses for food, staff, and transport. We will have incurred expense in processing the enquiry and bookings. Finally, we have learned to respect the ocean and the Tongan weather, and not to take unnecessary risks.
PAYMENT
To confirm your reservation for our guided tours, Fatai Kayak Adventures must receive full payment or voucher detail at time of booking. Payment for tours can be made via credit card online, at an approved travel agent, via bank transfer (with applicable bank transfer fees), or with cash at our headquarters. Hourly & Daily rentals are processed in person only at our headquarters or at an approved travel agent in Tonga. If you have special circumstances (i.e., would like to begin before our scheduled opening hours) or are making arrangements for a group, we are happy to work with you or your travel agent to ensure that your needs (i.e. multiple kayaks) do not conflict with a pre-booked tour.
CLIENT CANCELLATION:
GUIDED DAY TRIPS:
- Client Cancellation within 48 hours of day of departure will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
- Client cancellation within 24 hours of day of departure – NO REFUND WILL BE MADE.
- There will be NO refund on any portion or part of a guided trip once the trip has departed.
- PLEASE NOTE THAT IN THE EVENT OF A NO-SHOW FULL PAYMENT WILL BE CHARGED!
- All other cancellations prior to 48hrs incur a 10% administration/cancellation fee.
HOURLY & DAILY RENTALS
- For kayak rentals, there are no refunds after the period of hire has commenced. This includes clients that return before the hire period has run its full course.
CANCELLATION BY FATAI KAYAK ADVENTURES
Our policy is not to launch a Guided Tour on safety grounds if we consider that the wind and ocean conditions are unsafe for that group. This is our decision. In this situation we give a refund in full.
Guided Tours
Once your trip has commenced there are no refunds. There may be times when the weather changes during the day (rough seas or large swells) and the tour must be cancelled at some stage during the trip. Rainfall is not a reason for cancellation as Tonga is prone to random and brief showers. It is not uncommon for a perfectly sunny day to suddenly become overcast or vise versa. As long as the ocean is safe, we operate in rain or shine.
Note:
- Fatai Kayak Adventures reserves the right to cancel a client’s tour in the event of non-compliance with the terms and conditions of Fatai Kayak Adventures sea kayak tour briefing. In this situation, there is no refund.
- Fatai Kayak Adventures reserves the right to change the direction of a trip due to unsafe weather or sea conditions determined by the Tour Guide.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
We advise all clients to consider arranging appropriate travel insurance that covers Adventure Tourism. On guided tours, the client is responsible for handling all of the kayak & snorkeling equipment with care. Any loss or damage to any of the equipment assigned on the tour will incur the fees stated on the liability waiver form. For Hourly & Daily Rentals, the client is solely responsible for any loss or damage to all equipment. Under all circumstances, the client is solely responsible for their personal equipment.
